Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel
Maintaining youthfulness.
This post menopausal woman had no real complaints but was more interested in her long-term health, that is, in reducing the effects of age by keeping her ovarian hormones at appropriate levels. She took the Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel (PHP1).
Her DHEA was borderline low. Testosterone and estrone were normal; estradiol and and estriol were within the target range for long-term tissue health. However, progesterone was quite low. This combination of numbers is very common for post-menopausal women who are not taking any external hormones (contrary to the myth that post menopausal women need estrogen).
Her bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is straightforward. She will consider taking a low dose of sublingual DHEA in the morning and a low dose of sublingual progesterone twice per day.
Warm regards,
