Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel
Tired all the time and osteoporosis.
This woman is a patient who has been diagnosed with scoliosis, osteoporosis, uterine cancer, and low adrenal function. Symptoms included fatigue and bleeding from the cancer. According to the doctor she eats very well and tries to exercise. However, the tiredness keeps her from the activity level she was accustomed to previously.
We looked at the Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel (PHP1) to help complete the picture of this woman's health status.
The PHP1 results included low DHEA, normal testosterone, and normal estrone. Estradiol and estriol were in the bio-identical hormone replacement therapy target range. Progesterone was quite low.
Following my conversation with the doctor, the patient was going to consider taking a few milligrams of sublingual DHEA and a low dose of sublingual progesterone. This combination would address the fatigue, uterine bleeding, and osteoporosis. And she would consider running the Adrenal Stress Index (ASI) to further assess adrenal function.
I also had a hunch that digestive problems had been somewhat of an issue through the years. Come to find out, the doctor already had run an Expanded Gastrointestinal Health Panel (GI2) on her. Based on those test results, the patient was indeed gluten intolerant, had low digestive enzymes, and a low immune response. She had also had an organism that was being treated.
Warm regards,
Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
