Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel
Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and hot flashes.
This patient had been suffering from a combination of symptoms including low energy and hot flashes. She had been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. She had been taking DHEA, pregnenolone, and progesterone cream on her own but was still experiencing problems. So she had her doctor order the Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel (PHP1).
The test showed that her DHEA was low. Her testosterone was normal while her estrone was low. Estradiol was in the target range, but estriol was a little low. Progesterone was about 50% too high.
The doctor might consider switching the progesterone from a transdermal product to a sublingual. Also, the patient may end up taking a little sublingual estrogen to help with the hot flashes. Likewise, she may want to address adrenal function with the Adrenal Stress Index (ASI) as that may have direct impact on her fatigue and fibromyalgia.
Warm regards,
Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
