Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel

Ovarian cyst.

This patient had an ovary removed in the past because of an ovarian cyst. She had had some trouble with breast cysts, too. Both problems can be associated with hormone imbalance, so the doctor had ordered the Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel (PHP1).

Test results revealed high testosterone, a possible sign of another cyst on the remaining ovary. All other hormones were normal or within their respective target ranges although progesterone was at the low end.

The doctor is considering giving the patient a low dose of sublingual progesterone and further investigating whether the patient has another ovarian cyst.

Warm regards,

Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
