Female Hormone Panel
PMS, depression, and weight problems.
This patient has suffered from quite a variety of symptoms including PMS, depression, and problems with her weight. She also experienced low energy, gas, and bloating. She had gained about 100 pounds since her last pregnancy and was on thyroid medications.
The doctor was addressing some of the issues using the Female Hormone Panel (FHP).
The test indicated that the patient had high testosterone and high estradiol. Sometimes this combination is a result of ovarian cysts. Sometimes poor liver function is involved, too.
However, progesterone was high off and on throughout her whole cycle, overwhelming her own internal hormonal levels. That is more indicative of external hormone exposure (which also could explain the high testosterone and high estradiol).
The doctor's job will be to determine if she is exposed to some product that contains one or more hormonal components or if she might have polycystic ovaries. In the meantime, he might give her Livit 1 and Livit 2 to help her liver clear the high hormones.
He might consider giving her coconut oil to address the gas and bloating. The Expanded Gastrointestinal Health Panel (GI2) would be useful to get at the functional root of her digestive problems.
Warm regards,
Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
