Female Hormone Panel
Headaches and hot flashes.
The patient was actually peri-menopausal: cycling but experiencing headaches and hot flashes. To help her, we looked at test results from the Female Hormone Panel (FHP).
We found normal DHEA and testosterone. Estradiol was about 40-50% higher than I like to see. Progesterone was not really all that bad, but it was a little low. The combination of a little high estradiol and a little low progesterone produces estrogen dominance symptoms.
So the main approach here might be to raise progesterone with augmentation and lower estradiol. I suggested liver support in the form of Livit 1 and Livit 2 combined with fiber to help remove the high estrogen.
Warm regards,
Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
