Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel

No history of hormone use.

This woman had not had a period in some time, had no history of hormone use, and wanted the best possible hormone levels for long-term health. So, the doctor ordered the Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel (PHP1).

The test showed low DHEA and slightly elevated testosterone, a combination that tells me she has been under stress for some time. She had normal estrone. Estradiol and estriol were in the target ranges. Progesterone was well below the target range.

The doctor was going to consider giving a little sublingual DHEA and a physiologic dose of sublingual progesterone. I also suggested the doctor consider using the Adrenal Stress Index (ASI) to look more closely at adrenal function.

Warm regards,

Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
