Questions on getting pregnant.

I'm not sure if you take questions from people on a daily basis, I just read some forums on the Life After Depo site, and found you and hope you can give me any helpful info.

I have been on depo for about 2 yrs now since after I had my daughter. Before I concieved my daughter, I was on the pill, went off it for 3 months and then started trying. It only took about a month to become pregnant. After my daughter, I went on depo and my last shot was the end of May. I would be due to get another the end of this month but chose not to go back.

Good.

My husband and I want to concieve, and I only wish I had been more informed about depo, as I would never have gone on it, or at least stopped taking injections alot sooner. I wish to be pregnant now, or as soon as possible. My questions are... Do I or should I wait for a regular period to come back before we start trying?

If it were me and my wife, I would want to wait for a healthy cycle (much more than a regular period).

I've read about women getting pregnant without even having a period or knowing if they are ovulating. I'm not sure what charting is either as I've read about women doing that. Is there any way to bring my period on sooner as well?

Yes. It will most likely come back on its own, but you have been deceiving your brain with the Depo, so it sometimes has problems getting back on track.

The quickest way is to "map" your hormones with a Female Hormone Panel. Then you can adjust your hormonal levels to close to normal, thus helping to retrain your brain.

Right now you probably are low in progesterone and may or may not show any signs of a cycle.

And last, if I miracuously got pregnant very soon if we start trying, and the depo isn't completely out of my system, is there a chance at all of harming the baby in any way???

Perhaps, but I don't know anyone who could really tell you.

With my daughter, when I was 6 wks pregnant, I started spotting, and was given an 80% chance of miscarriage due to a tear in the uterine wall and a blood clot formed behind it? I took 2 months off work, rested alot and things worked out fine!!! Had a great pregnancy, no morning sickness, GREAT SHORT Delivery! Anyway, Please, any information you can give me on these questions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again.

I can order the test kit for you, if you decide to go that route. It is a multiple-sample saliva test. You collect the samples at home and mail the test kit back to the lab. They send me the test results after which you and I discuss possible plans to get your healthy cycle back. A plan usually includes bio-identical (human) hormone supplementation for awhile.

Warm regards,
