Food Intolerance Panel and Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel
Digestive cramping and brain fog.
This woman had quite a variety of symptoms. Complex chronic illnesses sometimes just require starting with small steps toward the end goal of good health.
Symptoms included hot flashes, brain fog, memory loss, dizziness, and wakefulness at night. She frequently experienced diarrhea and digestive cramping. And she was diabetic. The doctor ordered the Food Intolerance Panel (FI) and the Short Post Menopause Hormone Panel (PHP1) as a starting point.
The FI showed that she was genetically intolerant of dairy protein (casein), soy protein, and egg protein. Gluten did not seem to be a problem as her gliadin SIgA was negative.
The PHP1 revealed very low DHEA, normal testosterone, and low estrone. Estradiol was below, estriol within, and progesterone well below their respective target ranges.
So where to start? I would start by suggesting the patient avoid dairy, soy, and egg. If she is not able to avoid all to begin with, she might try to prioritize. In the meantime, she could take Bos Welya Plus (frankincense) to help reduce the intestinal inflammation.
She could consider taking Bio Gymnema and banaba leaf to actually improve sugar metabolism and improve insulin production. Likewise she could benefit quite a bit by making sure she gets regular exercise and watches the glycemic index of her meals to keep her blood sugar as steady as possible.
For hormone balance, she could take sublingual DHEA, sublingual progesterone, and possibly a low dose of sublingual estrogen. Also, many diabetics seem to respond well to testosterone.
Warm regards,
Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
