Female Hormone Panel

Symptoms in spite of good test results.

The patient had a history of irregular cycles and excessive bleeding during her periods. The doctor ordered the Female Hormone Panel to determine the hormonal events of her cycle.

DHEA was low. However, estradiol, testosterone, and progesterone were actually about as good as I ever see.

I suggested the doctor look at adrenal function more closely. I also suggested the doctor consider a low dose of sublingual progesterone the last few days of the cycle (days 21-28) to ease the drop back to follicular-phase baseline.

Warm regards,

Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
