Expanded Gastrointestinal Health Panel
Clostridium difficile, Ameba histolytica, and pathogenic bacteria.
This gentleman was struggling with a number of gastrointestinal complaints and had been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Most doctors stop there and start prescribing. However, this wise doctor decided to use the Expanded Gastrointestinal Health Panel (GI2) to determine just what some of the functional problems might be.
No organisms were seen under the microscope. However, the fungal culture indicated a small problem with Candida albicans. And the bacterial culture indicated true problems with Enterococcus (Group D), alpha hemolytic Streptococcus, gamma hemolytic Streptococcus, and Enterobacter cloacae. We often see some of these organisms invade after antibiotic use, when the patient has a parasite, or when his immune response is too low to really fight them off.
Cell wall fragments from Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium parvum were not found in the stool. Helicobacter pylori antibodies were negative. However, antibodies (SIgA) for Toxoplasma gondii and Ameba histolytica were positive indicating a current infection.
Intestinal immunity, secretory IgA, was depressed. Chemical markers indicated inflammation of the colon (intestinal lysozyme) and low pancreatic enzymes (chymotrypsin). Antibodies (SIgA) indicated he is genetically intolerant of soy and egg proteins.
So, for treatment, I gave the pharmaceutical protocols for Clostridium and Ameba. The patient will avoid soy and eggs and take digestive enzymes. He also will consider taking Virgin Coconut Oil for its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, immune boosting, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Warm regards,
Dr. Mark Rhodes, Ph.D.
