Short Thyroid Panel
Follow-up after positive thyroid antibodies.
Several months ago this patient had exhibited normal free TSH, normal free T4, normal free T3, and positive thyroid microsomal antibodies. The doctor implemented an anti-viral program designed to reduce the autoimmune attack on thyroid tissue. Now we were looking at a current Short Thyroid Panel (STP) to see how the patient had improved.
The STP showed a normal free TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) value and a normal free T4 (L-thyroxine). Free T3 (triiodo-thyronine) was low, and TPO (thyroid microsomal antibodies) was now negative. The negative TPO indicated that the anti-viral therapy seemed to be working. However, now we were detecting a liver problem. That is, the liver should be doing a better job of converting T4 to T3.
Therefore, the doctor was going to use Guggalip Plus to enhance the conversion and improve lipid metabolism. He also might consider using Livit 1 and Livit 2 for liver support and Virgin Coconut Oil to improve the patient's metabolism.
