I've got to laugh at myself. I was so optimistic.
I thought I could pour so much more effort into the content on the web site. You probably noticed that the home page boldly proclaimed: "This site changes every day. Watch it grow."
The site definitely did not change every day. I left that statement up as an encouragement to me. Some days, it served to discourage me, but it was truly my long-term goal to achieve.
When the site went up, my e-mail load increased of course. However, one of the most surprising things that happened was that my phone started ringing. The difference was really dramatic. I think that many of the questions asked over the phone need to be addressed on the site. You all are guiding me in that direction especially when the same question gets asked more than once.
The site has a long ways to go yet, but I look back at the last year and see that many things were accomplished. First, the web site exists. It gets visitors every day. Many come from verbal referrals or links on other web pages. Quite a few new visitors find the site through the search engines.
In this first year, I got the newsletters started. And, as of November 2001, the site has a working online shopping cart for tests, supplements, and skin care products.
For now, I will change the heading on the home page. Someday the site will change every day. I have no doubts.
